Infinite Days

Infinite Days - Rebecca Maizel “Evil be he who thinketh evil." And I'm thinking a LOT of evil stuff to say right now. I am a mixed ball of confusion. There are a lot of things that I don't like about this book, but I also have positive ones to hopefully balance it out.First, KUDOS: Lenah and Rhode. Ahh.. a good dose of history and romance always gets any reader's attention. Lenah Beaudonte is a vampire who lived for almost 500 years and decided to go into hibernation and become human again. Rhode, her maker, is an interesting character. I can't help but think that there is more to him than the story let on. I like Rhode better than Justin Enos. EPIC FAIL: Lenah and Justin Enos. I don't buy Justin's character. He is supposed to be all dreamy and hunky, but No. Just Nuh-Uh. I can't feel the chemistry between him and Lenah. KUDOS: Beautiful Writing. Rebecca Maizel has a gift for beautiful words. I think she portrayed a very different Lenah way back when she was still a vampire queen and presently as a teenage student. The words she used are poetic and natural. EPIC FAIL: Three Piece. Hell, mean girls alert. But I suppose, I'll just stay on Neutral Ground about this one, they proved to be good friends half way through the book. KUDOS: Deviation from Normal Vampire Theme. A vampire queen who wants to be human is new to me. I think it deviates a bit from the usual vampire genre we got used to.Yeah.. No, not really like that. But, anyway, this is a good book but it's just not for me. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Tangled

Tangled - Emma Chase “He moved his trunk-like manhood toward the weeping petals of her womanly center.'Who the f*ck talks like that?!” Oh My God. This book is so hilarious! I wish I could make a side by side gif wherein one part is a steamy gif while the other side is a hilarious gif. I will borrow one of my GR friend's saying when "Believe the Hype." I read this book because a lot of Goodreads people love it. I did not see any negative comment. So.. well, I gave it a try. And DAMN. I am not sure what I feel about this one. One minute I am feeling hot and bothered, then laughing out loud the next. Drew Evans. is no Christian Grey. Yes, he is rich, a womanizer and a damn good businessman. YET, he is realistic, honest, way too upfront and has a real good heart. I love the way he narrates the story, I love the things and ideas he comes up with. “My mother always told me, “Anyone worth doing, is worth doing well.” Okay, she didn’t actually say those exact words, but you get the picture.”“Mackenzie raises her hand proudly. “I have a bagina.” I smirk. “Yes, you do sweetheart. And someday, it’s gonna help you rule the world.” Kate Brooks. I think I love her. She's smart, sexy and determined. I love the scenes where she and Drew were competing for the same business account. I love how childish and desperate they were acting. I also think that Kate is the one woman really worthy of Drew's love and attention because she tried so hard with her stupid ex-boyfriend for almost 7 or 10 years. She did not cave in easily when Drew asked for a chance after pulling off a stupid joke. Ah, I almost thought this is going to be tragic.I love the other characters. Especially, Mackenzie and Alexandra. The story line involving them along with Drew reminded me a lot of Fifty Shades' Grey Family. This is a very fun read, with sexy scenes and heart-warming romance. 4.7 out of 5 stars.
Defiance (The Courier's Daughter, #1) - C.J. Redwine DAMN. This book is.. Pure Adrenaline. If you like a book that is full to the brim of kickass action, you'll like this one.If you like a book that has a decent twist and unexpected turn of events, you'll devour this.If you want a love story that is not too overwhelming with cheesy lines and physical intimacy, you'll love this book.[b:Defiance|11410430|Defiance (Defiance, #1)|C.J. Redwine|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1341967711s/11410430.jpg|16343248] got my attention from the very first sentence.I think C.J. Redwine has a gift and I won't hesitate to line her up with Leigh Bardugo, Laini Taylor or even Cassandra Clare. This is not perfect but I love the world building and the writing itself. It shows a lot of promise to turn into one hell of a series. However, I am not fascinated with Rachel Adams. I think she's way too stubborn and acts too harshly. I'm also quite confused when everybody thinks she's a strong character because her father, the best courier in Baalboden, trained her. She is more of the weapons-type rather than frilly-dress-curtsy girls, but becomes way catatonic when faced with death and cruel actions. So, she can fight but she can't stomach the result of that fight? Hell, whaat? Logan McEntire. I love him best. I think that he's mature and logical. He's the one who's doing all the thinking and the planning, which is good because he rationalize every thing first. I had a great time reading on his POV.The love story is not overly done, kudos. I love the fact that it's not really insta-love. It took a lot of danger, blood and the Commander to come between Logan and Rachel to realize how they really feel about each other. My heart broke for Oliver and Jared. I think that they are essential characters and was hoping that Jared Adams is still alive somewhere, bidding his time to come out and plan something against Commander Chase, who I found extremely evil and annoying.I was confused with the Cursed One. I imagine it as a dragon. But what I don't get is how it came to be. Where did it came from or why is it Cursed? Was it human before? This was not tackled well on the book. The other villages are also a mystery, I wish I would find out more why there are villages and what caused them.Definitely reading the sequel. 4.5 stars.

Hopeless (Hopeless, #1)

Hopeless - Colleen Hoover I LIVE this book. Sometimes, when you read a REALLY GOOD book, it's hard to do a proper review. Others tend to do just a one word review like "AWESOME" or do a shrill fangirl dance with lots and lots of gifs because it's hard to express these thoughts with words. However, I would like to try and give [b:Hopeless|15717943|Hopeless (Hopeless, #1)|Colleen Hoover|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1353489892s/15717943.jpg|21389085] a proper review because it Fucking DESERVES it.First, I fell totally in love with the characters. Linden Sky is a good narrator and she's a bit unreliable. I got the feeling that she's hiding a whole lot of dirty agenda the first half of the book. But, even if she's snarky and make out with boys like it's the end of the world, I cannot feel any irritation towards her. Dean Holder is another epitome of male perfection with imperfections. I love him. I love his weaknesses and his efforts. His words are beautiful and so swoon worthy. "You don't deserve words, Sky. You deserve actions." "I've been looking for you my whole damn life." I think I just melted away.. Before reading this, I've read some of my friends' reviews. And I totally agree that 'this is not for the weak-hearted' or that 'you're in for an emotional roller coaster'. DAMN. The truth came out slowly and in pieces.. pieces that will tear you apart one by one or pieces that will combine together and make you explode like an emotional bomb. I read this one sitting because I can't bear the anxiety. I was so damn curious what happened to Sky when she was younger or why Holder is such an on and off jerk. As I finally got to the part of the truth, I want to smack someone so hard because I can't bear the tragic past that Sky had. I mean, how can someone do that to a KID? This book is swimming on a major pool of issues possible. The waterworks were open last night, I'm telling you.[a:Colleen Hoover|5430144|Colleen Hoover|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1333056335p2/5430144.jpg] never disappoints. I love all of her works. She's my official Queen of Contemporary Novels. I think I'm in love with her. I'm happy with the ending but will crave for a lot more. I can't wait to read [b:Losing Hope|17340050|Losing Hope (Hopeless, #2)|Colleen Hoover|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1368348507s/17340050.jpg|24075414]. Perfect 5 stars.

This Girl (Slammed, #3)

This Girl (Slammed, #3) - Colleen Hoover "If I took every romantic poem, every book, every song and every movie I've ever read, heard or seen, and extracted the breathtaking moments, somehow bottling them up, they would pale in comparison to this moment." I am sorry to quote something from the book even though there are still people who haven't read it. But, I have and need to. Because these are the exact words that convey my feelings when I read the final book of the Slammed series. I was sooo excited when I finally got my copy.I've been a fan of Layken and Will's love story because it's something that is realistic and bittersweet at the same time. I was ready to give this book 4 stars. I'm halfway through with it and it's just another story from [b:Slammed|13372690|Slammed (Slammed, #1)|Colleen Hoover|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1328530463s/13372690.jpg|18602144] but on Will's POV. I am so enthralled with the man, so I'm terribly excited, even if I already read and know what happened. But Oh My Gosh.. That ending... It's hard not to feel a mixed ball of emotions. Will totally captivated me with the way he saw things and made his way to make LIFE worth all of it. "I wish I could explain how I feel, but nothing can explain this moment... Nothing can explain the moment when the woman you would give your life for sees her daughter for the very first time." DAMN. It set off the waterworks.I was a bit sad that the series ended. I totally want more from Lake, Will and the rest of the gang. They made me ride a rollercoaster of emotions, from smiling to crying and even hysterically upset. But all Good Things must come to an end one day, and boy, I'm very glad that [a:Colleen Hoover|5430144|Colleen Hoover|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1333056335p2/5430144.jpg] gave the series a very nice one. It's not too sappy, it's no terrible cliffhanger, and it's not too open. It's in fact Butterflying AWESOME. God, I think you just become one of my fave authors. EVER. Perfect 5 stars.

The Elite (The Selection, #2)

The Elite - Kiera Cass So Fashionably-Good yet Very Frustrating. Oh my good Lord.. I terribly wanted to give this a 4-star since I liked [b:The Selection|10507293|The Selection (The Selection, #1)|Kiera Cass|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1322103400s/10507293.jpg|15413183]. But after thinking it over, I really can't do anyone or myself justice if I gave it anything higher than a 3 star.Don't get me wrong. I don't hate it. It's just... frustrating and quite shallow. I admit liking it's predecessor because I am a girl and I like swoon-worthy love stories with pretty dresses and cat fights. But after months and months of reading REALLY AWESOME dystopian books with a bit of love stories like [b:Prodigy|13414446|Prodigy (Legend, #2)|Marie Lu|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1336254717s/13414446.jpg|18712554] and [b:Divergent|13335037|Divergent (Divergent, #1)|Veronica Roth|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1328559506s/13335037.jpg|13155899], I began to slowly lose my interest on this series. Sure, I was excited to read The Elite, the bookstore even gave me my copy before the release date, but I was quite disappointed.First, Terrible Love Triangle. I love me a good love triangle, and this one is not good. America is simply too selfish on this book. I can't help but feel sorry for Aspen even if I was Team Maxon before. She keeps on asking for time, but she did not think hard enough who to choose. She keeps on waiting on whose gonna swoon her the best and then throw away the other guy. It's obvious that she'd fallen for Maxon but why keep Aspen waiting? I think she's a coward to face the consequence and be left alone if Maxon ever not choose her. It's like a MIGHTY REBOUND for both guys. Poor them.Next, This is Dystopia? Uh-huh. Well, the history of Illea was tackled on this one but nothing further than that. Personally, I think he's a DRAT. Period. The only dystopian thing about this is the Caste system which by the way is not even a unique term. Hello?? The Indians and Hindus have them. The Monarchy is a total douche, especially Maxon's father. Frustrating Prince. Sigh. Maxon.. While reading, I had the feeling that I need to understand his actions like I did with Warner on [b:Unravel Me|13104080|Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2)|Tahereh Mafi|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1340287622s/13104080.jpg|18276967]. But no, there is no deep justification. His reasons are shallow. Incorporating Freaking Twists to make America stay in the game. G-R-R. What the hell is happening here?? I don't even have proper, clean words to say to this fact.Don't worry, I am not totally in-hate with this book. I have good points too. Friendship tested. I love the scene with Marlee and America. I thought that the Selection will keep them apart. America showed how true she was and that's a consolation. Celeste finally got it. Ugh. I hate this bitch. I am so relieved when America finally gave her the slap. Good job! This is not some literary winner, but I'm pretty sure that this books was made for light reading and for those girls who love the idea of a Prince who'll sweep her off her feet. 3.5 stars.
Renegade - J.A. Souders Totally Cute Cover is Deceiving. Note: Thanks to Jasmine for recommending this to me. :) Welcome to the perfect world of Elysium , where people are trained into perfection, babies conceived from perfect couple matches, Enforcers and Guards are deadly accurate and perfectly lethal. I said "perfect" a lot, did I? Well.. that is what the Elysium and the Mother of the people wants us to believe. SO WRONG. [b:Renegade|11468074|Renegade (The Elysium Chronicles, #1)|J.A. Souders|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1344176313s/11468074.jpg|16402333] has been sitting on my TBR shelf for a long time. I was also stupid to think that it might have something to do with mermaids or anything underwater. (I did not look this up on Goodreads, anyway. ) I was totally wrong about mermaids but I am right about underwater. As you can see, the cover is pretty, cute and you might think that this is a love story. SO WRONG. The first few chapters introduced us to Evelyn Winters , the chosen as Daughter of the People, who by the way, is not a biological daughter of the Mother. At first, I found her quite annoying. Her actions and thoughts are boring. Too repetitive and robotic. HAH. The next chapters revealed WHY. Concept is not entirely unique. I am not sure if I should call it dystopia, because the author surely wanted this to be utopia. It's confusing. What I love about this book is the Underwater setup of the world Mother chose. According to her, Surface Dwellers or humans on land, are violent and selfish. Evil Mother. So, who died and made this B%%&*^ , queen of all? Her Father of course. Love as Swift as the Waves of the Sea. I don't like the love story in here, probably because I don't believe in it. How can a guy fall in love with a girl he just met? Gavin is cute and all, he's also nice and brave. But I cannot understand his feelings for Evie. The Kickass Action. is quite similar with Marie Lu's [b:Legend|9275658|Legend (Legend, #1)|Marie Lu|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1333909141s/9275658.jpg|14157512]. This is the main reason why I like this book! Evelyn appears fragile and spoiled, but she's a total badass. There are a lot of moments that are gruesome and bloody. There this part wherein, the "defectives" gave me the creeps! The plot is good and exciting.I am so gonna die of thinking what'll happen to Evie and Gavin as they were trying to escape Elysium.. and what's (REALLY) up with those abandoned sectors, anyway?? Confused Ending. is a cliff hanger. I am totally curious what'll happen with Evie and how she'll cope on the Surface. 4.7 out of 5 stars.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1)

Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1) - Laini Taylor "Once upon a time there was a girl who was curious with this book.. It did not end well." Okay. That was me.[a:Laini Taylor|324620|Laini Taylor|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1224474224p2/324620.jpg], what the hell??This book.. this.. THIS BOOK is EPIC. [b:Daughter of Smoke & Bone|8490112|Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1)|Laini Taylor|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1338613368s/8490112.jpg|13355552] is NOT your ORDINARY angel-devil book. This is sooo good! The first half of the book is OKAY. I mean, the characters are amazing and the setting is beautiful.I've never been to Prague but I think that it is a nice setting for the book. What made this different from other angel books is the fact that it is a little bit darker, mature, no cheesy love scenes, interesting plot and amazing characters. It is a bit hard to find a good book with this genre and creatures since almost all have the same synopsis and character personalities. [b:Angelfall|11500217|Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1)|Susan Ee|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1319887835s/11500217.jpg|16435765] is one other angel book that rocked my world besides this one. Concept. The whole seraphim and chimaera theme is fresh and interesting. The endless war between the two of them is the catalyst for all of the kickass action and heartbreak in this book. The only thing I can't quite comprehend is the idea of (PLEASE: don't click if you haven't read this yet.) angel and chimaera doing the deed. this is basically my reaction:Okay. Movin' on.. the Characters. I love Karou! She's so cool!I love the idea of her wishing for her blue hair, pimple no-show and itching matters. She's also funny. I love the way she cares for her chimaera family and the real mystery behind who and what she is. Akiva is no angel, I can assure you. He is a killing machine and breaks rules every now and then. I really can't picture how he looks in my mind's eye, all I know is that he is so damn good looking and that's enough for me. Brimstone is one sneaky beast. I love him. That also includes the rest of Karou's family. And Madrigal... HMM.....I never really got the idea about the teeth, I mean, why teeth??Have I missed some important detail while reading? Love interest/Romance. is nicely done. I love stories that are sweet but not too cheesy. Karou and Akiva's relationship was interesting and the later part of the book revealed the reason why this hot angel is enthralled to Karou. When I found out about that part:THAT is the exact reason why this book captured my attention. The only down side to this epic moment is Akiva's own doing. I hope that the quote right from this will serve as a clue to what really happened/will happen. "Hope makes its own magic." Akiva, you handsome handsome drat.I have only a thousand high fives and praises for the author. The world building is perfect and the words are beautiful. The characters are all likeable, whether monsters or humans. The folklore is nicely incorporated and the plot is full of dark twist and turns. I recommend this book to all readers who want something mind blowing with a twist of paranormal and magic genres. Perfect 5 stars.

Valkyrie Rising

Valkyrie Rising - Valkyrie Rising is an interesting read.I love the idea of badass Valkyries and Norse mythology. I like that the author gave a touch of humor on this novel too.I am not a 100% fan of novels involving mythology but I will always make an exception when it involves the Underworld. The idea of Hades/Odin/Styx simply fascinates me. Or maybe I haven't found that special series yet that will make me crave for myth novels all the time. I want to thank a dear Goodreads friend of mine, namely Jasmine for recommending this book to me. She recommended a lot of really awesome books but sadly, I cannot say the same for this one. :( Sorry.Nah. Maybe it's not yet time for me and [b:Valkyrie Rising|13034113|Valkyrie Rising (Valkyrie, #1)|Ingrid Paulson|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1332247199s/13034113.jpg|18197631] to click and become best of friends.Any way. The story is interesting. I've never read anything about Valkyries before so I am curious. The plot is also good but I have A LOT of questions. I wish that the author maximized the idea on one book, at least give decent clues about what everything's all about. I think it's patterned too much on the myth itself. I really don't know. Characters. are Decent. Likeable. Readable. But I think that the characters are too young. I cannot feel any attachment to them. If I'm a 16 year old reader, I would probably appreciate the characters, but I am way past sixteen years, so yeah.I like Tuck. He is the only beacon of light I saw while reading this. I could also add Grandma Hilda Overholt. I think she's still hiding a lot of stuff and I can imagine how kickass she might be. Graham is a total hard-headed brother and I don't like him at all, though I can see that his character might play a bigger role on the next book. Astrid. Hmm... I think that she's not pure evil. That's all I can say for now. There are a lot of parts that seems to be dragging, while there are also some that I found really entertaining. Mostly the parts with Tuck and Ellie's banter. I also like that this book made me go places while sitting on my bed reading. I can imagine Norway perfectly on my mind's eye. Beautiful. 3.8 out of 5 stars.

What Really Happened in Peru (The Bane Chronicles, #1)

What Really Happened in Peru - Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan Okay, Cassie Clare. You did not just &%$#^^&^&%$4??? What the hell just happened there? Right there at the ending?!This short story centers on Magnus Bane, the most beloved, witty, flirty and glamorous warlockin the world of Shadowhunters. Among all the characters on TMI and TIF, I especially like him.Every part with him is not dull and he brings his own flair of what I call "glittery magic" .This novella is divided into years he went to Peru and the adventures that came with it. I would not elaborate everything by year on this review because that'll just be a waste of time.I am not saying that this is a bad story. On the contrary, I found it hilarious. I also learned a bit about Magnus' thoughts about mortality and love interests. This warlock sure have different taste all the time. I suppose living for quite some time tends to give someone like him a very boring life, so he decided to spice it up every now and then.My real problem with this one is the ending. Nah. Just read it. :D 3.5 sparkly stars.

The Prince: A Selection Novella

The Prince - Kiera Cass Team Maxon. Indeed I am, but while reading this novella about our beloved prince, I've undergone two stages/phases/types of reaction. First: "It's fuckin' Maxon!! More Maxon! I love Maxon! I am so happy, I think I'm gonna die!!" *fangirl mode activated* And then, as I read the next 50 pages or so..Alright. What happened here?!I did not feel any kind of "tingling, swooning, fanning-myself, intense emotions" type of feelings. HELLO?? I fraggin' love Prince Maxon. He is royal, handsome and totally generous. But this novella made him awfully naive and boring. I can't help but feel that he is this shallowguy who is constantly TOO WORRIED with his crown and the girls laid out for him. I did not see the determination and strong personality I amhoping he possess. I am also quite disappointed that there aren't any thrill with this Daphne character. Damn. And here I am shipping MaxEmerica but hoping to discover that something forbidden and sexy came between Maxon and the French princess. On the upside, I like the way Maxon is honest with his feelings when he met the girls AND America. I like that he found her extremely pretty. :)I can't wait for [b:The Elite|16248068|The Elite (The Selection, #2)|Kiera Cass|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1365982996s/16248068.jpg|20397129]. :) 3.5 stars.

Unraveling

Unraveling - Unraveling blew me away. It is TOTALLY mind-boggling, thought-inducing and heart-wrenching. I want to acknowledge the author first. [a:Elizabeth Norris|5073459|Elizabeth Norris|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1328567106p2/5073459.jpg] you are a freakin' FEELS mastermind. WOW. I must admit that I don't likethe writing style at first. The pace is slow and I constantly struggled with the excitement building up but nothing's good is happening YET. (though I know, something GOOD and BAD is ought to happen since most of my GR friends love it.)I love the Mind Fuckery. I love any book that gives me a good dose of it. I am so anxious to find out what's REALLY going on. I am intrigued by the deaths and the mystery that goes by the name of Ben Michaels. Though, the VERY exciting parts came on the later part, from feeling quite stupurous, my inner fangirl suddenly rose and did her shrill scream since the twists and feels came barging down one by one, always coming harder and sharper than the previous one.Total mind fuck. I can't help but feel emotional about J's dad and Alex. Sob. Characters. Janelle Tenner is a very likeable heroine, despite her teenage angst and sarcasm, I love the fact that she plays no damsel in distress though she was resurrected once, and that she is a very strong girl. A lot of bad things happened since she was young and the 24 days that went with the book. She controlled a lot of emotions and stood up for what she know is the right thing to do. Ben Michaels is a good-natured guy and she cares for J alot. Alex Tretcher. Now him, I really like. He is the class valedictorian, the loyal best friend and smart sidekick. I love him from the start until his very end. Oops.I totally love LOVE TRIANGLES, But sadly, there is none here and that was okay because I got the non-cliched story and Alex and Janelle's friendship is the best. it's totally unconditional. The World Building or rather World Destroying is beautifully written and quite ominous. It's totally dark and creepy. At times, I feel like I am on that world and it scared me. Ending. I wish that Ben will find his way back to Janelle. They make a really cute couple. :) 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Prodigy (Legend Series #2)

Prodigy - Marie Lu EPIC. First, the Kick Ass Action. I cannot say anything negative. This book is like a really good batch of caffeine. Not just a good batch but a totally HUGE one. It pumped adrenaline all throughout my whole being, made me anxious and bite my nails (a bit), bang my head with the book and gripped the edge of any surface my hand comes in contact with. (weird, right?) Anyway, this is an AMAZING BOOK. The PLOT. The Characters. I totally love Day more on this one. He grew up and made mature decisions. He is more expressive of his feelings for June. Anden . He is the new elector after his father's death and I cannot say that i trusted his character at first. I thought that June's instincts about him will totally backfire on them, but thankfully did not. Anden proved that he is a good elector for the Repbulic. June Iparis. is officially one of my fave heroines of all time. She is really a badass fighter and deadly smart. Not too mention that she is also attractive. She showed a lot of guts on this book and also balanced it with a softer side of hers. Tess. is a flirty bitch. I am so annoyed with her. She keeps on pushing herself on Day. Love Triangle. Square. Web. Tangle. is perfect. And totally OKAY. There aren't cheesy stuff going on, but there are a lot of hormonal rush and sorts that the first book did not cover.Unfortunately/Fortunately, it's still wholesome. The POV from both Day and June is good and every part kept me on my toes. This are my reaction ALL THROUGHOUT. This is me whenever there are sweet moments between Day and June:And this is me on the Ending. Everything is on gif form since I am really having a hard time reviewing this. Note: this book gave me a terrible BOOK HANGOVER. Thank you ArnArn for recommending this goddamn-epic-heartbreaking-amazing series. [a:Marie Lu|4342215|Marie Lu|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1285032806p2/4342215.jpg] you are a freaking genius. I think Goodreads should add a 6 or 10 star rating in here.

Splintered

Splintered - A.G. Howard Beautiful. Angsty. All kinds of Weird. Welcome to the real Wonderland. Those are the words I can think of when I read Splintered.Man.. This is a really twisted version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I can't help admiring this book and the way it was written. Sure, this really dark and dramatic, but the words are beautiful. So, [a:A.G. Howard|5186274|A.G. Howard|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1325561918p2/5186274.jpg]: Characters. Err.. i guess this is where my real problem with this book comes in. I did not like ANY of the characters. I just read about them, picture them in my head, form thoughts about them, then NOTHING. I do not feel any kind of emotions. I suppose their personalities just doesn't reach out to my very heart and soul. MEH.Alyssa. Too much teenage angst and I hate the fact that she calls her mom "Allie." I know that she has a rough life and everything but emo girl is not just for me. Jebediah. Hmm.. Nope. Did not fell for him. Not even on his most refined self-sacrificing moment.Morpheus. I almost fell for him. He is the resident dark, bad guy of Wonderland. I think I am going to ship him from the start, but when I read how he really looked like as a Netherling?I know it's not gonna happen. Plus Points. I love the Mind Fuckery and the creepfest of this book. Super like it. Espcially the part about the graveyard and the Twid Sisters. The twists are nicely done too.Ending. At least this one has good ending though not phenomenal.
Poison Study - Maria V. Snyder Poison Study! Such an awesome read!! Oh my G. I really liked this book. I have read The Throne of Glass before this, but please forgive me if I say that Poison Study is better. More beautiful even. First, the female protagonist, Yelena IS or WAS a criminal, but her crime was an act of self-defense and she was not an assassin. But she proved all throughout the book that she's no soft character. She plays no damsel in distress and she's smart, and that's why I immediately like her. She's kickass or at least she learned how to be. The world building is amazing. It's not overly done and not lacking at the same time. It's also simple in the sense that the world of Ixia is only divided by Military District numbers and produce. A bit like Panem's districts. It was an easy read and quite hard to put down.Yelena's extent of magical powers are intriguing and I am waiting for something disastrous to happen since she's the Commander's food taster.(and something did happen, though not super disastrous.)I think that this is a book that deals with a lot of "heavy" topics such as politics, murders, and rape. It's good because it touched those topics but came out as interesting, not boring or gruesome. I really like the Characters. A lot of them are snarky and sneaky, but there are also those who are funny and loyal. I especially love Ari and Janco. They are loyal friends and a definite plus, that they are good fighters. The Commander and his true nature is also interesting. i love that he is strict and prim but compassionate at the same time. VALEK. O dear Lord. I know that he's a bit older, very stoic, very strict, cunning, dark, mysterious and appears to have no conscience over killing people. But O.M.G. He is SO DAMN SEXY when he tries to be compassionate and thoughtful. He is super cute when he tries to be funny too!I love that the love interest between Valek and Yelena started slowly. I kept on waiting for something swoon worthy to happen but there's nothing, at least not on the later part of the book and when it did:YEAH!!! The moment was so worth it.And the Ending? I have no words enough to describe my feelings. It's so sweet.I need the next book. ASAP. I need me some more Valek. Perfect 5 stars.

Pivot Point

Pivot Point - I just read one of the best books this year!!! Seriously??? Pivot Point is told from Addie Coleman's POV. She is a Searcher who apparently is one of the world's most gifted bunch of folks. These people with special mind powers lived inside the Compound and they live separately from normal humans though they go outside to work for various big names like the FBI.What I found totally cool about this book is the fact that it's told in two different scenarios, the Para and the Norm scenarios. The reason for this? Addison searched the future so that she can decide who she'll live with: her mom or her dad. - after they decided to part ways. Characters . I like Addie. But I don't specifically LOVE her. She's great. She likes to do the right things, primarily because she have a Persuasive mom and a Lie Detector dad. Other than that, I think she's really cool and fun to read. Duke. Nah. I don't like him, even if he's the handsome, athletic badass, I never really fell for him. He's a jerk. Laila. I think I like her. She experienced a lot, having a busy mom and irresponsible drunk father. She 's like most typical teenage girls with woes and a little tendency to go boy crazy. Trevor. Please don't let me start on him, or else I'll go..I love him! Please give me the elusive, smart, understanding and cowboy boots wearing guy. I think he's really cool and cares for Addie more than Duke, who is too busy being a jackass on Addie's other version of the future. Over-all thought about the book. I think it's okay. Not totally awesome but interesting enough. There are parts wherein you need to test your critical thinking talents and guess who is the killer, which I found quite surprising. The Cliff hanger Ending. Okay.. I was reading, blah blah blah.. "Oh, this is sooo interesting." "Oh, I like this guy!" "He did what??" But, the ending is... WOW. BOOOOM, baby! I really really thought she's gonna choose the other way around and then again, she thought that, that she chose THAT. Okay, I am saying nothing coherent now. So, YOU. Yes, I mean, YOU have to read this and find out for yourself. Final Feels. Please give me the next book now. i can't stand the suspense. 4.7 out of 5 stars.
